Here is the first official trailer for Prince Avalanche, a new film staring Paul Rudd and Emile Hirsch. The film follows Alvin (Rudd) and Lance (Hirsch) as they leave the city for the summer to re-paint road markings on a country highway, the surrounding area of which has been destroyed by forest fires. As you can see in the trailer the odd couple get off to a bumpy start and the film looks very much like a character study of two very different people who are thrust together under strange circumstances. However they will undoubtably realise things about themselves and each other and form some kind of relationship, what kind of relationship is yet to be seen. The film looks like it will be both strange and funny in equal measure and David Gordon Green the writer and director of this film looks exactly the man for the job. Green has an impressive filmography both within comedy, Pineapple Express and Eastbound and Down and with having been attached to films of a more serious nature, he was the executive producer of Compliance, which you may remember was reviewed a while ago on here, which very much lacks any comedic elements. The film is adapted from an Icelandic film called Either Way and is coming out on 9th August, check out the trailer below.
