Bombay Saphire in association with Tribeca Film Festival have done a competition where each person had to come up with a film idea structured around and adapting the same script, which was written by Oscar winning writer Geoffrey Fletcher (Precious). I thought this was a great idea which really illustrates the versatility of film and highlights the fact that a few simple bits of dialogue on a page can be interpreted in a multitude of ways, resulting in what are 5 very different imaginative concepts of the same script. Below are the 5 winning shorts, personally my favorites are ‘The Mrs’ and ‘Room 8’, but what are yours?
Room 8 by James W Grffiths
The Mrs by Shekhar Bassi
Concrete by Alexis Barroso Gasco
Water Song by Paul Frankl
Crab by Cadi Catlow
